A new hobby.
I’ve discovered something about myself that I think maybe I always knew. I love making playlists for people. I think I hit the scene just a little too late though since the more romantic and meaningful alternative: mix-tapes, are not really a viable technological option anymore, despite what hipsters might tell you. That being said. If you ever want me to make you a playlist, I would...
Badassery is lost on him.
This ref lost his soul yeeeaaaars ago obviously. see more Gifs
Ginger Pressure
I feel the need to tumbl way more now that Brian the Fabulous is following me. That, and Matt hunter has chastised me none too gently for both my lack of consistent posting and the lack of otherwise scintillating content. So from now on I’m going to try and attach at least one new gif or caption to every post simply for the sake of spicing up my otherwise dreary and overly intellectual...

Real time thoughts on a Katie Souza meeting.
She’s just arrived to the metting. She looks cold.
The worship band is particularly soulful during practice. Not bad. Not exactly my taste either.
The meeting is at a medical health education center. Like a big classroom for medical students. The correlaries between physical and spiritual healing are apparent with the visual metaphor.
I am not the only person here under 45, but...

Define "Home".
In less that 5 days I am going back to Lynden, WA where I was born and raised, to live with my parents. I am doing this because, while Redding, CA, where I live now, is fun and full of great people, it is not full of good work. Or frankly much work of any kind. And so I explain ad infinitum, ad nauseum that I am going “home”. But here feels like home too. I feel as though I...
The Gourmet Necronimicon.
While at Trader Joes today, I realized that I had an opportunity to try out some of the more pretentious and expensive foods they have there. I’m probably revealing my ignorance by calling anything in Trader Joes “pretentious” but it just seems that way sometimes right? Anyways, once this realization struck me I realized I had no idea what I wanted to have in regards to so...

Art and intimidation.
Sometimes when I record a song and it sounds good or I perform and I don’t mess up or I say something witty or cool at a party, I suddenly feel like that quiet, mysterious, complex, sophisticated artist that I so badly want to be. And then I find someone like Rafael Rozendaal. Let’s start with the name shall we? Rafael. He shares a name with a ninja turtle. And not just any ninja...

John Mayer on story tellers.
I love his music. Really. I have no qualms at all blasting anything from “Belief” to “Why georgia” at all hours of the night, in my friends apartment when he’s trying to sleep, and during funerals. But sometimes the dude needs to SHUT UP. Seriously. I get the impression that he thinks every word out of his mouth is a gift for women to treasure. It’s...
Oh my God.
Eric Schripsema is following me. You know, you tell yourself you won’t get star struck, that you’ll use the opportunity to be really cool, but you won’t. Not really. You can’t control it when it happens. You just find out and scream like a giddy school girl. While in a crowded coffee shop. Worth it.
Obligatory coffe shop post.
Sigh… Can I just say that, despite the occasional good experience in coffee shops, I hate them. I know full well that by writing this I am possibly alienating an entire sector of society (open minded hipsters are, as we speak, plotting my demise) but it just needs to be said. Aside from peddling a legal addictive narcotic to the unsuspecting masses, they are hotbeds of the worst kind of...
We'll call him "Justin"
He is an elvis look-alike. He is possibly Italian, but we’re not sure. He is a loud person by nature but can be, at times, extremely timid. He adjusts himself in public shamelessly. He works for an airline, and uses that to scope for girls. I’m fairly sure he has a mild form of auditory dyslexia for which I mock him relentlessly. He wears beanies, not out of a sense of fashion,...

Valentine pressure.
Every year without fail as the month of February begins we all begin to feel it. Valentines day pressure. I’m gonna be honest here. I have never been involved with anyone during a Valentines Day. Ever. If you use your head you can extrapolate that I’ve never dated for more than a few months at a stretch but that, as unfortunate as it is, is irrelevant. The question that this...
